Simple Translate Privacy Policy

Fullmoon Studios ("we", "us") develops Simple Translate for Android. This policy explains how the app handles information and how to contact us about privacy.

Translation and information on your device

Translations run on your device using a downloaded language model. The app does not send your translation input or output to Fullmoon Studios, RevenueCat, or a remote AI service, and we do not use it to train AI models.

When you import an image, the app extracts text on your device using a downloaded OCR model. Images and extracted text are not uploaded. The app uses a temporary local copy of the selected image and removes that copy when you close the preview or finish extraction. Extracted text that you translate is saved in your local translation history.

The app stores translation history on your device, including source and translated text, languages, the model used, dates, and favourites. It also stores preferences, recent languages, downloaded models, and purchase-access information locally. No Simple Translate account is required.

The app reads the clipboard when you use Paste and writes to it when you use Copy. Your device's clipboard and backup services operate according to your device settings. Android backup or device transfer may include local app data; we do not operate a translation-history cloud sync service.

Model downloads

When you download a translation or OCR model, the app connects to Hugging Face and its download infrastructure. Those services receive the requested file address, your IP address, and technical request information needed to deliver the file. This download does not include your images or translation text. Once downloaded, the models work offline.

Purchases and RevenueCat

Google Play processes optional purchases. We use RevenueCat to verify purchases, unlock paid accent colours and image translation, restore access, and report purchase activity.

This involves an automatically generated app user identifier, purchase history and tokens, product and transaction details, purchase status, and technical information such as app and operating-system versions. Online requests also expose your IP address to the receiving service. RevenueCat can connect when the app starts, even if you have not purchased anything.

Google handles payment details; Fullmoon Studios does not receive your full payment-card details. Translation text is not included in purchase requests. Purchase records support app functionality, purchase analytics, and handling refunds or invalid purchases.

Support and other disclosures

If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you include in your message. We use that information to answer you and resolve support or privacy requests, through our email provider, Google.

We do not sell personal information or include advertising SDKs. We use the service providers described above to operate the app and support purchases. We may disclose information where legally required. Providers may process information outside your country, including in the United States.

Opening this policy or another external page sends ordinary browser-request information to that website's hosting provider. This policy page itself contains no analytics scripts or advertising.

Retention, deletion, and your choices

Local history remains until you delete it. Delete individual translations from History using the bin icon. Downloaded models can be removed in Settings. Clearing the app's storage through Android settings removes its local data; any device backups are managed separately through your backup provider.

Purchase records are retained as needed to provide and restore your permanent unlock, handle disputes, and meet legal obligations. Uninstalling the app does not delete Google Play or RevenueCat purchase records. Support correspondence is kept as needed to resolve your request and meet any applicable legal requirements.

To request access, correction, or deletion of information held by us or processed on our behalf, email security@manwol.dev. We may need information to locate the record and verify your request. Please do not send payment-card details. We will explain any information that must be retained and why. Google independently controls its own payment and account records.

Depending on your location, you may also have rights to restrict or object to processing, obtain a copy of your data, or complain to your local privacy regulator.

Security

Model downloads and RevenueCat requests use encrypted connections. Local data uses Android's app storage protections; the app does not add a separate password or database-encryption layer. No storage or transmission method is completely secure.

We will update this page when our practices change and revise the date above. Where required, we will provide additional notice of material changes.
